A farmboy gnoll bids farewell to his adventurer gnoll sweetheart as she goes off adventuring, making her promise to write regularly to him about her wild and amazing adventures. And write him letters she does, telling him about the increasingly fantastic and excessive and impossible legends and stories from the places she visits in her travels: tales of gifted warriors emptying out deadly monster-filled dungeons with their bare fists; mighty heroes defeating entire armies unaided with dizzying spells and crushing blows; beautiful maidens feeding famine-starved towns with their endless breast milk; towering giants moving mountains with one hand and rivers with the other; evil empires conquered with a single quake-causing megapaw step... eventually even tales like a warrior-king growing so huge and beefy that their kingdoms are built upon their own body's bulk, or an unrivaled goddess who fucked every submissively swooning deity in the pantheon into dazed exhaustion before outgrowing the universe in a self-willed apotheosis. Then one more letter, gold and alight, rippling and magical, appears before him one day as he toils on the family farm: "Confession time: those weren't local legends and myths, they're, uh, the party bard's chronicling of my various exploits. We've run out of planes to adventure through and evils to defeat, so I'm gonna come home and catch you up on the details.
