I usually just dive straight in, no thumbnails, no plans! I do occasionally do very tough sketches to lay out the panels.

Outstanding! Classic diabolical plan foiled by a gamma surge!

Do you thumbnail, or always start at full size?

It depends on how detailed or tricky to draw a page is. Sometimes I get stuck on figure poses that aren't coming out right, or being unable to lock on to one vision of how I want the page to flow. With this one I finished it really quickly because I was able to get exactly what I had in mind right down there on paper. TLDR: Usually between about half a day and a day.

I'm going for 'generic 70's/80's TV show thug', such as you might find in Wonder Woman, Knight Rider or the A-Team. Did I win?

Wow this process is amazing, for one page how long does it take typically?
