Perhaps it is because I grew up watching telenovelas that I really enjoyed watching this show, especially because it's so different from all the BLs. It ended up being one of my favourite series ever so I'm really glad you at least checked it out and hope you'll end up watching more. There is a queer love story, yes, but it's not between Tian and Yang. Their sibling relationship, however, is really, really sweet, As funny as it is to see people go "what's a homosexual?" I think it's actually a language issue. It's said the families came from China to Siam and the word they use (dong xiu) is a Chinese word and came from the name of the emperor's lover from that story (Dong Xian). The people who don't understand the meaning are the children obviously and also Chan (the second wife) and Bua (the mistress) who are both Thai so they are probably unfamiliar with the word itself, not so much with the concept of being gay. Speaking of Bua she really is an angel. She was the only one who didn't express distaste for homosexuality and even made that hairpin for Tian without making a big deal out of why he wanted it. She really loves Tian and Yang unconditionally even though they aren't her children and it's so sweet.

2023-08-30 19:19:36 +0000 UTCI was drawn to TSWL because I love to watch Laws of Attraction. Jam and Film who played the BL couple here are also in Laws of Attraction. I did finally watch TSWL, but I'll admit, I kinda FF through many of the eps to get to the JamFilm bit cause the chemistry is just sooo good. I'm not really into telenovela/soap opera type series in general, so while I do love the BL plotline of this, the soap opera nature of it was just not for me. But every time I watch a reaction of yours I come away with a different perspective. So if you continue with this series, I'll def check it out!
