2023-09-25 23:06:57 +0000 UTChi topher! just wanted to clarify something for you about wei wuxian's appearance. in the novel, he has mo xuanyu's body and mo xuanyu's appearance, so nobody would know just by looking at him that he's wei wuxian. but in the show, to justify using the same actor i guess, they handwave it so that he still has wei wuxian's original appearance even though mo xuanyu used his own body to summon him. that's why he wears the mask whenever he's around people who might recognize him. so him lowering the mask in front of jiang cheng was a big moment because jiang cheng now can see that it's definitively him. you're totally on the right track by assuming his appearance would be different, because that's what makes SENSE and what's in the original, but with the drama what you see is what you get, lmao. loving these reactions!!
