With the name "Rikkun", it is a nickname. -kun is a suffix we use for boys, and -chan is for girls and babies. So, you might call Ritsu, Ritsu-kun and shorten it to Rikkun. For a Japanese speaker, this not only shows that she knows Ritsu, but that she (or really her sister) is close to him. For what Masumi said about clothes, I agree with you both. Clothes SHOULD NOT affect anything. However, some of Japan is not in that mindset yet. So, in practicality, clothes are very likely to have men acting a fool. And, on top of that, if something were to happen to someone wearing those clothes, there are a lot of people that will condemn the female side of the equation and exonerate the male. Again, should it be that way? No. Is it? Quite often, yes. Also, Japan is very hierarchical, so there is a section of the Japanese population who rarely ever have to control themselves. You can tell this section of people absolutely nothing. Whatever they do is right. Think mansplaining on steroids. Apart from that section of people, regular people are also above some people and below others, and sometimes these people will take out their frustrations on those below them. It is not unique to Japan, but I think the level is just different here. One thing I really like about this show is how many different types of people we see. From the men drinking their lives away, to the looters, to the people hanging in the library, to people happily extorting their way to goods or money. I feel like we often see extortionists and looters, but the others are a little rarer. Hmm... I think this is the first time I heard someone say that Yuma brought the comet into existence. That actually makes so much sense.
