Yeah that has been happening for many episodes now..........but as you say, it's subtle. It was very well done by the director and the actors, as it doesn't just get dropped on you, it has been there all the time. It's just the way Pavel plays it isn't obvious at the begining and you can miss it.

Way's powers can be used on enigmas, alphas, special alphas and omegas (but he can only do it if he touches the person). If you rewatch this you will notice every time Way touches Babe and suggests something to him, Babe stays still with a blank face for seconds and then agree and do whatever Way told him to do or say. However, it is subtle until this episode, because I guess the director did not want people who did not read the novel to know about Way's powers. Way has been manipulating Babe's thoughts and feelings for more than 10 years. That is also the reason why Babe never had a serious relationship until Charlie, Way imposed those ideas on him with his powers (Babe himself told Alan about this few episodes back).

2024-05-25 15:32:07 +0000 UTCSo Way actually has been using his powers against Babe throughout the show. If you go back you can see the times he used it Babe would get like a blank look on his face. For example, in episode 6 when Babe found out that Charlie was also adopted by Tony and he ran to Way's all sad and heartbroken, you can see Way use his powers to get Babe to stop crying and feeling hurt. And then they left little hints throughout the show with dialog. Like when Babe would say "Way told me I'm better off alone." That was Way's way of trying to keep Babe isolated and for himself. It's why he tried so hard to get Babe to get rid of Charlie. I wouldn't be surprise if Way used his powers to end all of Babe's other relationships.
