2024-08-26 18:24:05 +0000 UTCpeople usually can't get past them being extra but at it's heart it has one of the sweets bl friendship storylines, it centers more feminine male characters which rarely happens in BL and it has some pretty important commentary transgender issues (Daisy identifies as female). It is silly on the surface and the humor is very much geared toward Thai audiences and not International. I was told it is one of the few shows that stays very true to the book. It was a phenomenon in Thailand and really put Saint and his company on the map. It took me till ep 5 to really get the show but I also recognize some people just can't get past it's style and get too embarrassed by Toh. So it's not for everyone but I will always be a SCOY defender. It did important things and had such a beautiful heart to it.

For some reason I ended up watching all the episodes, but I'm still not sure if it was worth my time. I guess even intentional weirdness can be to weird. Maybe I simply enjoyed the pain at the time. Never really understood the hype, but we're all different, I guess. I fully accept that I might be outnumbered by the people who love it. Because of this character, I didn't start liking Seng as an actor before I watched Knock Knock Boys. Billy's character was a bit more likable, but I had to watch The Sign to really start liking his acting as well.

2024-08-12 16:02:58 +0000 UTCI love this series. Upon my first watch I wasn’t sure but once I made it to the 2nd & 3rd episode I couldn’t help but continue. When this came out it was actually one of my favorite series from that year. Probably in my top 10 of all time favorite series. Please continue it because it gets better & actually has some great topics and you’ll eventually fall in love with the characters. This isn’t the series to take seriously. There’s also a lot of character growth as well.

2024-08-10 20:23:33 +0000 UTCSCOY is a wonderful series about friendship, self-love, self-acceptance, etc. Yes, it is over the top but that was intentionally. There is someone out there for everyone, it doesn't matter how "weird" you are. Stay true to yourself. I love this series. I know it's not for everyone, and I can live with that. :-)

2024-08-10 19:31:09 +0000 UTCOthers might have said this already, but I'll restate it--The important thing to keep in mind with this show is that it features the characters that often get made fun of in BLs (particularly older BLs) and makes them the main characters who get their own love stories!

2024-08-10 18:31:25 +0000 UTCI binge watched this show about 2 or 3 weeks ago and it actually became one of my favorite shows that I watched this year. It wasn't perfect, of course. No show is perfect. I love this one so much for a variety of reasons but I'll wait until you're further into the series to talk at length. Toh and Nuea are so interesting and I could literally write an essay about them.
