Huaien had the pearls in his hair before he met Xiaobao. Also he dresses very androgynous beforehand.

In the exact same robes a man would wear...but she has two hair ornaments on the sides of the hair, not one guan on top of his head. I think it's like seeing a stunning tall thin androgynous person in jeans and a t-shirt. The clothes give you nothing so you look at the hair. The hair has a barrette so you use she/her pronouns.

The author had an interesting idea but unfortunately lacked the ability to execute it well and the director of the show took the novel at face value. I guess I enjoyed both for what it was?? Huaien is actually an interesting character, if you think about it. He was raised by a man that hates him and never received love or care. He was molded into a killer from a young age and his only concept of love is the unhealthy obsession his father has with his mother. And then one day he suddenly gets bombarded with love confessions by some young master lol The show and novel could've been a great character study, but unfortunately fell short. But it still was an interesting ride, I guess. Unfortunately for Xiaobao and fortunately for Huaien, Xiaobao is hopelessly in love. My condolences my dude. To be fair though, I kept watching the show for my man, the miracle doctor. Sorry for my english… and that long ass comment.

2024-08-23 08:29:07 +0000 UTCI’m loving the show so far. Xiao Bao is adorable! And he reminds me of a boy version of Gu Xiang; Wen’s little sister from Word of Honor except he’s completely helpless🤣. He’s like a little kid and everyone has to constantly look out for him

2024-08-21 01:23:30 +0000 UTCI sort of have the opposite impression of the show, but also I'm supporting it no matter what as well cause I want to support more danmei adaptations (and the actors are adorable and did their best! I love them and think they worked super hard! it's so easy to tell they both loved this series!) But it's so bad, in so many ways... the acting needs work, the makeup is ishy, definitely needs more post-production editing, it's just a mess. A very cute mess, but oof it was rough to watch. Definitely would have been more fun with someone to watch with!
