It's more over the top, a bit closer to lakorn soap-opera style than the rest of the episodes... Maybe they decided to shift it a bit later, because there is a difference... later episodes settle into a more even tone. Maybe some people only watch the 1st episode and decide that the whole series is gonna be like that and get turned off. But yeah, the series is a lot, it's not fluffy, and even though it's still a melodramatic bl with a happy ending, it talks about some real world problems and how the rich and powerful can get away with anything

2025-02-03 04:17:14 +0000 UTCYeah, I agree - the social commentary about the injustice, and how the rich and powerful think they can get away with it (and they often do in real life!) is not fluffy bl, it's hard facts, but it makes the stakes for everyone higher and thry executed the mystery of what happened really well. It was a good series!

2025-02-03 04:11:15 +0000 UTCI enjoyed this series. lol An actual enemies to lovers story. The injustice had me going from like what ten minutes in. I was in it from episode one. I cried. lol But I was in. I loved this pairing coming off of To Sir With Love (Beautiful). Loved them in this one too.

2025-01-29 01:20:18 +0000 UTCI suppose if your issue is that this series is a lot, I can say that probably won't change. It has just 8 episodes so it was unavoidable. I just tend to prefer being overwhelmed to being bored so it wasn't an issue for me. I'm not even in the "it gets better crowd" as I liked the series from episode 1. But I get the sentiment of trying to escape from shitty real world things, I'm like that about some things as well. Much as I would like to see your reaction to the series as a whole as it is one of my favourite bls ever, it kind of sounds like it might not be your cup of tea and that's fine.

The mystery of what happened is well-executed, the romance is quite nice, and the way characters grow throughout the show is top-notch
