They're using old film techniques like the multiple split screen where they can show different locations with different actions happening at the same time. There's a lot of James Bond 🙂 like the easily escapeable and overly elaborate traps, and the quasi futuristic outfits designed by the villain, and the name of the sidekick bad girl being overtly expositional. And that chest hair is Sean Connery (early James Bond actor). Also the chop to the back of the neck to knock out a guard... lol. The montages and the music too are homages... but they had the actual composer show up, Burt Bacharach... on top of a double decker London type bus... for nostalgia, in a romantic homage scene! lol plus.

Also wish you'd watched the credits, as well as the End Credit ''Music Video'', but oh well 🤷♂️ Glad as Hell you enjoyed it Evie; as a fellow Canadian, with a ton of British, Scottish, and Irish heritage on my dad's side (just like Myers) these, along with all their references, and type of humour, were right up my alley, and a *huge* part of my childhood/early teenage years💚 The sequels are fantastic, and get funnier and funnier...
