Ride a cowboy - step by step

Generally, I always follow the same steps to finish a drawing.
Sketch - Lineart - Flat colors - Full colors
- When you have to color a drawing, always remember to decide where the light comes from. It will help you to understand shadows about the volumes of objects or people in the image.
- Usually, after flat colors, I use a layer above these for shadows and lights. I paint with a soft brush and I use lighter or darker tones of the base color.
- You can also separate shadows and lights on two distinct levels.
- The "type" of level is important. Use "multiply" or other effects to help yourself.
- Remember. The color of light also changes the color of the portion of the object on which it is reflected. So, for example, a red light source will create a red glow.
- When you think you're done, you can use the adjustment tools or a filter to improve your drawing.
