What has been cannot be changed. He will have to live making amends until his fate knocks on the door.

Derek is the second son of Triskelion kingdom
Part of the royal family died in a fire caused by the rival kingdom
Laura is the queen now and Derek is happy about it because he would never want to be king
He is on his way to forge an alliance with another kingdom and end the war
His favorite pastime is painting
When he meets Stiles, mistakenly thinking he is a prostitute, he invites him to his room for a "private show". Stiles, once he understands the misunderstanding, doesn't refuse to spend the night with him
Their second meeting takes place in the palace of the kingdom of Beacon Hills, during a council. They exchange embarrassed looks all evening
