First, I'm thrilled to share that work on UNDERCOVER Kit Man EP2 is in its final stage: All animations are complete, and I am now fine-tuning triggers, cameras, lighting, and—most importantly—the voice acting. It's on track for release in the last week of September.
Second, I need to address a serious matter and ask for your support in fighting piracy.
Thank you so much for your love and support—it’s what keeps me motivated to create.
However, I have to address something that has been extremely frustrating and disheartening: the piracy of my work has gotten out of control. Shortly after the release of Kit Man EP1, illegal copies were everywhere—the staggering reality is that pirated versions of my work were downloaded thousands of times more often than the number of members who have legitimate access to it. This is not only an affront to my work but also a massive devaluation of your membership.
While one could say this is a form of “flattery”, the reality is that it significantly harms my ability to create and earn a rightful income. Since these sites often operate in legal grey zones, there’s little I can do through official channels. That’s why I’ve made the difficult decision to take protective action. I know piracy can’t be fully stopped, but my goal is to reduce its spread and impact—while minimizing any effect on your experience.
After comparing different options, I’ve decided to re-enable the FileID for content download, which will help me identify the source of leaked copies, then I will blacklist those accounts, report them to Patreon, and other major VAM creators.
Rest assured, FileID is also a Patreon Creator who uses the Patreon’s official authorized APIs to provide its service. FileID only asks for what is needed for it to be able to perform its purpose, which is subscription information and history. In fact, through its APIs, Patreon does not provide FileID full information or tell FileID who people are subscribed to, it gives FileID only an ID in the form of a hexadecimal string to match up the creator and his/her subscripbers. So the only identifiable information FileID collect is your Patreon email address. This information is only given out to creators when they are already their members.(Actually Patreon has already shared the email address to creators when you subcribed them.) And the email address you use to signup to FileID itself doesn't even need to be the same as your Patreon account.
For downloading my content, the only extra action you need to take is a two simple, one-time steps: 1. Use any of your email to register a FileID account if you don’t have one; 2. Link up your FileID and Patreon accounts. (You can unlink them at any time.) This only needs to be done once.
I’ll trial this system for at least three months to evaluate its effectiveness.
I deeply appreciate your understanding and support. Together, we can help protect the work that makes future content possible.
Thank you for standing with me.
