Yes- but I mean it became a naming convention- its use spread to beyond where it started and was needed. I think they should always have a short name the fans know them as as their new name once they go beyond web novel level, and the full name as a subscript- that way people can just bother with the nickname- like Bofuri etc. I agree with Tee its a silly convention- just pointing out its origins- where it did make sense.

On the web site they are competing with tons of others for views and they are all just listed in long lists- so they try to get over their content and get people to have a look with just the name because thats all someone will see when browsing the lists.
