Late comment but I hope you will still find it to read ir both seasons cover the first 5 volumes of the light novel. The whole trip story is concluded in 17 volumes the last one caming out in 2011. Since 2016 the story is contuined and this year volume 21 came out: There is also a spin off story with 4 volumes so far that time line wise starts after vol 17/18
