Translation notes for these two episodes: Episode 5 - Just one thing. The reason the swallow says that her siblings died because of her was because it was her that fell out of the nest, not the entire nest falling out of the tree. So when she was picked up by a human and put back in the nest, the parents abandoned their children as she had the smell of a human on her. Episode 6 - Actually, fox child is a boy. He says so twice, in what kind of seems like his catchphrase (though the boy part was excluded in translation) -- "A man must not weep!" Also, you were right in that the thing that the teacher wrote on the blackboard and was reading aloud was in fact a quote from something. Specifically, what he read aloud was the last sentence of the first paragraph of the first chapter of Heike Monogatari, so they were studying the classics. And although it isn't a translation thing, the two chu-kyuu lookalikes in this episode are not the same ones as before. They're different coloured, and a bit bigger. I'm not too familiar with youkai, but looking it up it doesn't seem like that style of youkai is based on any historical youkai in particular as far as I can find.
