OVAdrive - Yasuo Otsuka's Joy in Motion

Comments

Isnt that exactly what he does? You watch through it with him, he makes some comments but not a huge amount, then afterward, he does the analysis section?

Yeah, just would be cool to get the analysis part after the reaction part, so both audience and reactor can enjoy it on both levels without one treading on the other. I love the analysis. But I also love seeing the raw reaction to what's going on in the show itself, on the character/plot basis. I can't remember the expression, but it's something like... Watch it once as a member of the audience, and watch it a second time as a director. Given how good Tee is at both, just think it'd be swell to have them separated a bit more, so we too can look back on why we (and he) reacted the way he did after the initial watch-through!

You dont need to create media to be a 'critc' of it or analyse/explain it. You DO add great value on multiple levels to us who watch your reactions. Sure if we just watch a show we will form an opinion, but it would often just be a very shallow gut one. WE dont have the eye or knowledge to often see WHAT and WHY something is good or bad or makes us feel a certain way. Its enjoyable to watch along with someone in the first place as they enjoy a show, and to see it through someone elses lense- and THEN to have you talk about what you enjoyed or stood out in the anime and WHY, and why certain animation techniques or direction etc made it great- and this is all stuff that would often fly right over our heads.. You explaining it all allows us to enjoy it a lot more- and to get more out of the shows we watch as we learn to be able to see what makes them good or bad. You help us be discriminating consumers.
