Croix also implied this is the case when she related what "she did to the moon" to the use of "dream fuel spirit". Plus, the Shiny Rod is said to be connected to the user's emotions in order to function (basically using a "good" version of spirit fuel), so it's no surprise Chariot could use it to absorb dream fuel spirit and that, when combining it with a Word, the results were disastrous (the bow turned huge and got out of control). I'm pretty sure Croix implies this is what happened in one of the last episodes, too.

2021-05-15 21:55:17 +0000 UTCThe relationship between Croix and Chariot comes across considerably less like Cain and Abel and more like bitter exes to me. Additionally, I’m pretty certain that she did use Dream Fuel Spirit that last time. My interpretation was that’s why the shiny rod disappeared, because she used it intentionally and in such an accidentally destructive way.

2021-05-15 09:31:03 +0000 UTCThe only way I can see the dream fuel spirit as a metaphor (while still a stretch) is that it becomes copied and oversaturated. And people feel like they have to do that same thing to be successful. So it robs them of their potential. Only someone with real passion, and creativity could overcome that and do their own thing while being inspired by the famous thing like Diana and Akko.

2021-05-15 06:14:19 +0000 UTCOne thing to remember about Akko's magic- she has had so much less time to get it back than Diana. I wouldnt be suprised if she has been progressing as fast as Diana ever did! Remember Diana after she lost magic took some months till she could cast a spell - she looked about the same age - so a year tops- and even if it was still hard, she has been practicing and working hard at magic all the years since then. Akko on the other hand isnt from a witch family.. she had no idea how to even cast a spell. The first spell she ever tries to cast is at Luna nova. If its not time but effort that brings the magic back- she has been working on it only since ep1 - such a short time comparatively.

2021-05-15 05:42:21 +0000 UTCYep. Episode 22 breaks me every time, but episode 23 brings me back together once more. Such a powerful duo of episodes, but still not as good as the finale imo. Also, when Chariot shoots the moon, Croix waves her hand and says “amnesia magic”, implying she’s the one wiping out the audience's memories, presumably so Chariot wouldn’t go to jail (?). And finally… “Very Obi wan vs Darth Vader”. Lol. If only you knew XD
