It depends on whether I can see a purpose to keeping them... if the end result of my ability is destruction, then yeah I'd lose it in a heartbeat. However, if there are positive results, then I'd have to say it's up to me to exercise free will and moral strength. TLDR: maybe because philosophy and ethics.
