ROD districts

so i just thought of a new idea for ROD (yes i'm still doing this even tho the comic has absolutely started)

i'm gonna split up Crucero city into 4 districts: Ashwood, Pearlwell, Highrise, and Rockford... each Ride or Die Tournament race is held in one district, and teams based in each district have their own kind of racing styles/specialties!

Dead-Enders are from Ashwood, Rockford High Rollers are from Rockford, and the Olympians are from Pearlwell (i might do some sorting and have another named team in Highrise later)

here's a general run-down of each district:

Rockford - drifting

the first ROD tourney race is held here, with the track being on winding roads. you gotta drift to stay on course! teams from this district usually have tuners (tho not exclusively), the kind of cars you'd most commonly see in street racing. Malique's team is based in the Rockford district. here's where you're more likely to find really flashy and colorful cars. i imagine them having a more hiphop style aesthetic

Highrise - jumps, off-roading

second tourney race held in this district on rough terrain, hills, and ramps. teams from the Highrise district often have cars built for jumping and dirt roads (think rallycross). their cars also tend to be more sturdy, so Highrise racers are known for ramming into other, more fragile cars. Urban cowboys-turned-street racers are commonly from this district

Pearlwell - precision

third race puts all the emphasis on car control and steady driving. Nash's team the Olympians is from Pearlwell. teams from the Pearlwell district are more used to racing in the city, dodging other cars without a scratch. this is where you'd find the sports cars and supercars. The Pearlwell culture tends to lean more high-tech and even cyberpunk

Ashwood - speed

the last tourney race starts in the Ashwood district, the Cannonball Run. this race combines elements from the previous races on a track from one end of the city to the other, so there's emphasis on just going really really fast. Dead-Enders are based in Ashwood, and teams from this district are more enthusiastic about classic cars than the others. this subculture sometimes overlaps with greaser or rockabilly style

Loners

teams or racers not affiliated with any one district are lone racers. lone racers are also often people or teams exiled from their district for needlessly dangerous driving (such as endangering civilians or driving under the influence). they're often seen as outcasts.

so that's what i got???? maybe that's interesting to someone LOL i'm having fun figuring out the differences between the districts tho... also trying to make the four equally appealing but it's hard not to have a bias towards the classics u_u lmao

and YES if you're reading this and thinking "this is fandom bait. this is like the harry potter houses or something." you're damn RIGHT!! THEY'RE FUN
