They spent a few days on Dressrosa, and during that time, Doflamingo was smart enough to stay out of their way. Not that he had the guts to cause trouble for Shin in the first place—unless he had a death wish, which he currently did not.
Whatever happened in Dressrosa after Shin left was Doflamingo’s problem. If he couldn't handle it, that was on him. But with Doflamingo’s skills, there was no way he’d screw it up.

“What the hell?? Who ripped out my tangerine trees??” Nami’s furious voice echoed across the deck.
Besides money, the little thief cat loved tangerines the most. Yet someone had the audacity to pull out her tree.
“I did,” Sugar said, not looking the least bit sorry. “I’m going to plant grapes here.”
Nami was so angry she wanted to march over and give the little brat a piece of her mind. But then she remembered how small Sugar was and decided against it.
Alright, let's be real. Nami just knew she couldn't win.
If she could have, she definitely would have thrown down. But the truth was, she was no match for Sugar.
'I need to get stronger,' Nami thought, a new resolve in her eyes. 'Otherwise, I can't even get revenge when I get bullied.'
For the first time, she felt the burning need to improve her own strength.
Shin had taught her the basics of the Six Powers before, but as for Armament and Observation Haki, you needed a strong body to even begin learning them. So even if he tried to teach her now, it would be useless.
Nami swallowed her anger and went to replant her tangerine trees somewhere else. Thankfully, Sugar had only uprooted them, not thrown them overboard. If she had, Nami might have actually tried to fight her to the death.
“Shin, I want to get stronger,” Nami said, having found him.
“Oh? Is this about Sugar?”
Shin had heard her yelling earlier. It wasn’t hard to guess what had sparked this sudden motivation.
Nami didn't speak, just nodded silently. It was indeed because of Sugar. She wasn't asking Shin to punish the little girl for her; she wanted to do it herself. But with her current strength, that wasn't happening. To get stronger, and fast, her only option was to ask Shin for help.
“Funny,” Shin mused. “I seem to recall offering to train you before, and you weren't interested. Now you're coming to me?”
He had personally offered to teach her, but she'd blown him off. Now that she was the one asking, he felt like making her sweat a little.
“I was stupid then...” Nami said. In truth, she was kicking herself. She should have started training long ago.
“Go ask Olvia to train you,” Shin told her.
“You’re not going to teach me?” she asked, a hint of disappointment in her voice.
“Nope.” Shin nodded.
“Why not?” Nami grumbled. Was it because she had refused him before? “Is it because I turned you down that one time? You’re not that petty, are you, Shin?”
She grabbed his arm and shook it, already knowing his weakness: he was a sucker for this kind of thing.
“Please, forgive me?”
“I’m just feeling lazy right now,” Shin said with a sigh. “Honestly, Olvia teaching you is the same thing.”
It was just the Six Powers, after all. That was the best place to start. Getting stronger in this world was a lot more painful than in the world of Naruto.
'Too bad they can't use chakra. That would make things a lot easier. But different worlds, different rules, I guess. I can't even learn Haki naturally; I had to copy it first.'
“Fine, don’t teach me then! Hmph, I’ll go find Olvia.” Nami stomped her foot and marched off.
Shin just chuckled and lay back on his beach chair to soak up the sun.
Today, no one is going to interrupt his sunbathing.
He had just had that thought when a small figure came barreling toward him, crashing right into him.
Annoyed at being disturbed again, Shin opened his eyes to see Sugar. This little girl was a real handful. She’d only been on the ship for a short time, and she’d already caused more chaos than everyone else combined.
“Shin, it was Baby-5! She was chasing me, that’s why I bumped into you!” Sugar squeaked, seeing the dark look on his face. She pointed a finger at Baby-5, who was running up behind her with two swords drawn.
“Oh? And can you tell me why Baby-5 was chasing you?” Shin asked with a deceptively sweet smile.
“I don’t know! She just started chasing me!” Sugar lied through her teeth.
“Baby-5, take her and teach her some manners.” Shin picked Sugar up and handed her over.
He didn't believe for a second that Baby-5 would chase her for no reason.
The furious Baby-5 took Sugar from him, a cruel smile spreading across her face.
“You deliberately messed up the floor I just finished cleaning! If I don't set you straight, you'll never learn!” Baby-5 said, pulling out a variety of weapons and brandishing them at Sugar.
Sugar had done it on purpose, and that’s why Baby-5 was so pissed.
And so, Sugar was dragged away. She looked pitiful, but Shin felt no sympathy. She had brought it on herself.
He went back to his sunbathing, while Nami found Olvia.
“Olvia, please teach me,” Nami said with a serious bow.
“You want to ask me about navigation? Of course,” Olvia replied, assuming Nami was there for a lesson on sailing. Olvia knew a great deal and was more than capable of teaching her.
“No, it’s not about navigation. I want to get stronger.”
Nami quickly shook her head. Sailing was important, but this was about improving her own strength.
“You want to get stronger?” Olvia looked at Nami, completely surprised.
'Back on Amazon Lily, she had zero interest in this...' Olvia thought. What happened?
“Yes. I want to get stronger. Will you teach me, Olvia?” Nami asked, looking at her with a mix of nervousness and hope, afraid she would say no.
<><><><><><><><>
Olvia was thrilled to hear Nami’s request. After all, Nami was a member of the Kuja Pirates. If her strength increased, it would be a direct boost to the crew’s overall power.
“Of course,” Olvia said, her voice warm and reassuring to the anxious Nami. “I’ll teach you anything you want to learn.”
“Whew, thank you, Olvia!” Nami let out a huge sigh of relief. “I was honestly afraid you’d turn me down, just like that jerk Shin did.”
“You mean Shin refused you?” Olvia looked at Nami strangely upon hearing this. Logically speaking, if Nami really wanted him to teach her, he shouldn't have refused.
“Yes, because he’s despicable.”
Nami nodded at Olvia and then said, “It must be because I refused him when he wanted to teach me before, and he’s not happy about it.”
“Shin’s not like that. You must have misunderstood,” Olvia said with a light, knowing laugh.
She knew Shin far better than Nami did. He wouldn’t hold a grudge over something so trivial. It was far more likely that he was just feeling lazy.
Well, it had to be said that Olvia really knew Shin better. Indeed, he just wanted to be lazy.
Besides, when it came to teaching Nami, he didn't think he could do better than Olvia. Sure, he was stronger than her in terms of raw power, but that didn't mean he was a better teacher.
In fact, he wouldn't even claim his teaching skills were on par with hers. Olvia had a real gift for instruction. If she ever decided to take on students, there'd probably be a long line of people wanting to learn from her.
“Alright, let’s start with the Six Powers,” Olvia said, shifting into instructor mode.
“Wait, you know the Six Powers?”
Hina, who had been training nearby, heard them and immediately walked over, her eyes fixed on Olvia with a sharp, analytical gaze.
“Yes. Is that strange?” Olvia replied with a calm nod.
“Hina finds it very strange,” she stated, her tone formal. “The Six Powers are a secret art of the Marines, not to be taught to outsiders. How do you know them?”
As a high-ranking Marine officer herself, Hina had been trained in the techniques, though her own mastery was nothing special.
“If possible, please teach Hina as well.”
Well, the truth was, Hina mainly wanted to find out how much Olvia had mastered of the Six Powers. She didn't actually want to learn from her.
“Of course. Now that you’re a member of the Kuja Pirates, you’re one of us. I won’t hold anything back,” Olvia said with a genuine smile, making it clear she wouldn't treat Hina differently just because she was a former Marine.
Hina was slightly silent upon hearing this. 'A member of the Kuja Pirates?'
Yes, she was a pirate now. She remembered how much she used to hate pirates. Yet here she was, one of them.
At first, Hina had still planned to escape from the Kuja Pirates.
But she'd given up on that idea—not for any noble reason, but because she knew she simply wasn't strong enough to get away. And though she didn't want to admit it to herself, part of her was actually reluctant to leave.
“Nami, I will be very strict when I teach you, so you have to be prepared.”
Olvia's gaze towards Nami immediately became serious. If she really wanted to teach her, she certainly couldn't relax.
“I’m ready,” Nami replied, her own face set with determination. “I know getting stronger will be tough. I’ve prepared myself for that.”
“Good.”
————
A few days later, Nami looked completely and utterly miserable.
“I'm exhausted. I feel like I can't even move. I had no idea getting stronger would be this brutal. I don't think I can take much more.”
Nami said with a miserable face.
“If you can't take it, just give up,” Shin said, walking by with a cool, refreshing drink in his hand. “Don’t push yourself. Being the crew's designated freeloader isn’t so bad, you know.”
Nami shot him a venomous glare. The more he mocked her, the more a stubborn fire ignited within her. She refused to let him get the best of her.
“I’ll show you!” she declared, clenching her fist with newfound resolve. “I’ll prove I’m not some delicate little girl who gives up easily!”
“I hope so,” Shin replied with a faint, infuriating smile, taking a leisurely sip of his juice.
Olvia walked over to him, a knowing look in her eyes. “You’re deliberately provoking her, aren’t you?”
“Yep,” Shin admitted with a grin. “A little motivation should help her improve that much faster.”
“Aren’t you worried you’ll push her too hard and she’ll just quit for real?” Olvia asked, a hint of concern in her voice.
“Nah, I know Nami,” he said confidently. “She’s not one to give up that easily.”
He thought of the Nami from the original story, the one who had worked tirelessly for years to save up 100 million Berries. Her willpower was not to be underestimated.
“By the way,” Olvia mentioned, changing the subject, “Hina’s been improving really fast.”
Hina hadn’t been particularly strong before, at least not compared to the true powerhouses of the world. But with Olvia’s dedicated guidance, her strength was increasing exponentially.
“That’s all thanks to your excellent teaching. I should be the one thanking you,” Shin said sincerely.
“Don’t say that. I know my own limits. Hina has a lot of raw talent, but it seems like it was never fully brought out back in the Marines.”
“That just proves how amazing you are, Olvia. Here, let’s have a drink.” Shin produced a bottle of wine as if from nowhere.
“Are you trying to get me drunk and then have your way with me?” Olvia asked, eyeing him with a healthy dose of suspicion.
“What? How could you even think that?” Shin feigned offense, his reaction a little too dramatic. “What kind of person do you take me for? I’m a perfect gentleman,”
“Heh, I think you’re definitely up to no good,” a new voice chimed in. Robin had appeared behind him, a cold, amused smile on her face.
“Ahem, Robin, I think you’re biased against me,” Shin coughed. “And when did you even get here?”
He had been so engrossed in his conversation with Olvia that he hadn't noticed her approach at all.
Robin rolled her eyes upon hearing this.
