The english killed the vikings because they invaded their island first and killed their men, women and children. It's basically revenge for what they did and fighting for your homeland. At this point in history the vikings were invading the British Isles. That armor they have is literally some of the best modern chainmail you could have had, they don't have anything better.

This is something Denmark, Norway and Sweden have in commun, these words means "son", so if a persons last name is Andersen or Andersson, this means they are the son of Anders! Our main character Thorfinn is Icelandic, so they have a little different names, but it's actually the same idea, they also use "son" but ontop of that, they have dรณttir which means "daugther". You pondered why Thorfinn was named as such when his father was named Thor, and dissapointingly there is no connection like the above mentioned. The names just both stem from the norse god Thor. Thor meaning "Thunder" and finn meaning "finn" like on a fish, so we're following the story of young Thunderfinn! haha Greetings from a Danish viewer! and sorry for the long comments, i just find it interresting!

The scandinavian names are often quite litteral, for exampel in this episode the name Halfdan comes up. This name is actually 2 words but together: "Half" meaning half of course, but the "Dan" means Danish, so the persons name is technically "Half danish" meaning he's half dane.
