TG Emblem Final Thoughts
Added 2025-07-06 13:50:27 +0000 UTCThere's a lot I have to say about this game now that I'm for the most part finished with it. Then again I don't really say that much to begin with. This game took way more time and effort than I thought it would. Originally I planned for it to be like half of the size it ended up being so that was an issue. At this point I am pretty damn burnt out on this game and the story and even the characters. I was struggling to squeeze out whatever creative juices I had for this particular story and the character designs. As for the campfire conversations I wasn't even able to get myself to finish them unfortunately.
On the other hand I was actually able to fulfil the original image I had for this game and more because of how long it ended up being. Doing everything myself was both good and bad in the end. I had complete control over every aspect of the game, and the character visuals and themes for the most part were close to or better than what I imagined. Handling everything though is just absurdly difficult though and if I hadn't used AI I probably would've taken much much longer to finish this game.
As for using AI, I was pretty uncomfortable and inexperienced with using it at first. Not sure if people noticed but I slowly improved bit by bit with using AI for the scenes and character illustrations and while its still pretty difficult to get it to produce exactly what you want from it, its much better than before. The image generation technology has been improving as well so that helped too.
I definitely don't want to handle everything about the game for the next game. I've kind of had enough of that and I don't want to spend such long amounts of time like I did with this one. The amount of time I spent making this game would probably shock everyone, even with AI handling the art it still took an enormous amount of time to make the entire thing by myself. Enough time that I don't even want to mention how long. You could probably compare it to an entire fire emblem game + a ton of addition content and I did all of it by myself.
The best part of the game was probably designing and making the characters. Making a TG/TF fantasy game and being able to envision it all was just really enjoyable. Making a game at all was an experience that I hadn't really had for a long while so figuring out all the game mechanics and creating maps was interesting and fun, at least at first.
I don't plan on making another game like this in the future though as in fire emblem style. I'm not really the type of person to stick to a certain type of experience. There is also some news that I need to mention about the next game that I will do in a different post. For now though I think this is about it for what I want to say about this game. I definitely learned and experienced a lot from making this game, but I'm also glad to finally be done with it. Thank you all for supporting this game until now. Hopefully I will be able to create plenty more content in the future.
