A day of could-have-beens

Today I was supposed to shoot with two people, one of whom gave me her location but not a meet time, and the other gave me a meet time but not a location. Obviously both pieces are important when coordinating a shoot, so neither shoot happened, despite all the effort I put into doing my part (including finding accommodations to stay in the area another night, rather than continuing on in my travels).
The contrast was stark. One of them was apologetic and really shares my values. She's never posed at all but loves the idea of body acceptance, and we are rescheduling for next weekend.
The other honestly just lives by her comforts. She said she's been wanting to step outside her comfort zone, but everything about her choices today was still centered on letting feelings decide actions (an increasingly common problem in America). And while it's not my place to push people past their comfort zone, it does pain my heart to see people catering to groundless fears at the expense of being loyal to their promises. And I found out she did the same thing to another photographer. I patiently and methodically called her out on it as we spoke on the phone ("Here's what you said, here's what you did instead, here's what you didn't do, and here's the impact it had on me…. What are you going to do to make it right?") and sadly her response was to take zero responsibility, and then to block me online (rather than simply unfollowing). I wish I could say that future photographers will be safe from her, but I just don't see indication that she sincerely took my words to heart.
It was a frustrating, wasted day.
