Labor of love

When I wrote poetry, titling each poem was momentous for me, but now that photography is my primary creative outlet, I almost never title my images.
Speaking accurately, what I title the cards isn't the title of the images they depict. But even so, I really take my time with it. I sit. I ruminate. I hold competing notions in tension until I find a name that hopefully harmonizes them. And if I don't find it right away, I stay in the moment until I do.
Usually I don't save any progress on the card until I've named it. I open the Photoshop file for an existent card (a card I've already made), and I like knowing that I will overwrite that file unless I come up with a unique name soon.
