The guards had thought the princess was tucked away in her room or in the Library, but their searches came up empty handed. After she missed dinner and breakfast without turning up once, the Shepherds were brought in.

“It is a sad state of affairs when the royal guard were so inadequate that they needed a military group to fix their mistakes,” the black haired witch grumbled as the team began their search. However, while the others fanned out in the castle, Tharja wandered out to the courtyard. She walked calmly to the large central tree in the garden and looked up. She watched a blue squirrel chitter and run about the branches, an acorn in her mouth. The witch’s lips cut into a wide smile as she noted the fur was looking duller, appearing a more natural hue for the creature, “there now...” she purred eying the male watching the scampering female squirrel, “you won’t be getting between me and my darling Robin anytime soon,” she turned as a rhythmic chirping came from the tree, the male now upon the female.
