Too Real, Too Honest

While roommates were away, i was borrowing their space heater. The night one got back, it was freezing in the house, so i wanted to offer it back. I only knew they were home because of the bathroom door opening and i heard the fan.
I groggily waited in bed, between awake and dozing, not wanting to leave warmth.
But when i heard him leave the bathroom, i quickly jumped out of bed, grabbed heater, and quickly opened my door.

In a groggy, half-cohesive stupor, i whistled, clicked, then in a raspy drug dealer voice, said, “hey... you want dis?” And held up the heater and chord.

My clothes were disheveled, sweatpants managing to droop and ride up at the same time, no shirt, and one of my loose wool socks had fallen off in the night
