Progress Report, 01/10 - 21
Added 2021-10-01 08:28:52 +0000 UTCHello everyone and welcome to a brief progress report. I woke up way too darn late and have to rush off to work as soon as possible, so I'll keep this brief.
The complete version of The Wonder Woman Comic seems to be well received so far! I'm incredibly happy about this since I was extremely nervous about its reception, seeing as it's a medium I've always wanted to incorporate (the future Warcraft comic coming to mind, for instance) into my work, so as to have avenues to tell longer stories and the likes. Animation projects, even longer ones, are necessarily limited in scope owing to the massive amount of work going into making even a second of animation presentable - comics conversely, while certainly time consuming in and of themselves, mean you can move a narrative along with some significance, enabling an actual "story" to be told rather than animating an moment in time with a "story background", if that makes sense.
Since comics seem to be something that the community appreciates, it means I'll have a creative avenue to turn to in those moments when I genuinely don't feel like animating, which makes burnouts less likely as it enables me to keep working with some consistency on the things that, creatively, interest me in the moment. Now, while I don't have any direct plans for the next comic in the immediate, I do have some ideas for a sequel brewing in my brain, as well as a few other ideas, with other characters, that might do. Finishing a project like this is sometimes like finishing a great book series - you feel a bit empty and tired, and need a little time to recharge. That said, feedback does help recharge the batteries quicker, so by all means do tell me what you think about the comic :)
Ultimately, perhaps, if I can pull it off, I'd love for comics to serve as the means to move a narration along, with animations breaking into the story for key lewd moments, perhaps with the comics even being voice acted along with the animations, to tell longer, more engaging stories that can create the feel of belonging to a larger alternative DH universe canon of sorts.
But that is for Future DH to worry about :)
With the weekend coming up, it'll be dedicated to the usual animation shenanigans to get the Monday Loop out the door. After that, project work will continue, where I hope to bite off one or two older ones in pretty quick succession, if Father Time allows it, in order to begin the process of making my backlog smaller. I've accrued more than a few projects over time, and it behooves me to finish what I have started, or take stock of the things that may or may not work and, as we say up here, "bite the sour apple". While unlikely that I ax a project entirely, some of them might turn into "Scenarios" and similar, smaller ventures for the sake of my sanity and being able to deliver something in the end.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and for all of your kind words! I'll have a poll coming up very soon about the spooky month, which officially has begun, and what we'll come up with to celebrate it in kind. Personally, I'll start off by putting some damn socks on and rushing off to work! Hope you're doing well :)
Take care of yourselves, and each other!

2021-10-03 07:08:47 +0000 UTCAs I said before, I think the wonder woman comic was the best thing you ever made and that is saying A LOT. you are a good artist/animator but your real talent seems to shine when the art tells a story, because you are a great writer.
