Progress Report, 14/01 - 22

Hello everyone and welcome to another in the line of progress reports!

I've made some proper progress this week - particularly in terms of the comic, which now has the entire Penguin side of things sorted in regards to posing, expressions, light setups and the likes. It is effectively ready for high quality rendering, so while I also will be giving the Convict project some love I intend to have the other intro parts looked at over the coming week. I'll have to make a judgement call soon enough as to whether I want to post the intro before the whole comic is ready, or if people are going to get the whole thing in one go.

Both have their ups and downs, for sure, and I honestly never seem to be able to settle for one of them, though I admit to having a preference for wanting the whole experience sorted before going into comic panel editing. That way things become more uniform, both in quality and looks, across the comic - for good or ill :)

The Convict is having its script reviewed, so as to string together the scenes I've made into as comprehensive a narrative as is possible. I began with little to nothing when it comes to the project, just a vague idea really, and when you keep building on something without a plan it behooves you to eventually sit down, pause, and take stock of the whole ordeal before it fizzles out into nothing. While the urge to reel yourself in cannot be allowed to become too powerful, it's sometimes important to temper one's creativity so as to not create too much material that gets discarded - lest motivation suffers, and the creativity soon follows.

In the event the Christmas Special video link doesn't work over on X videos, it's because I've had my account randomly limited over there. When in talks with their staff via mail, I was told to create an animated verification video so as to regain full account use. X hamster,  P-hub and other pages seem very limiting these days in terms of what they allow on their service, so X videos seems my best bet as of this moment.

I have to admit that the temptation to utilize Shrek burns brightly in me as ever, but we'll see what kind of video I conjure up in the end - it should probably be representative of my usual work to function as a verification video, after all. Do I use the green all star often enough for that to be the case? I dearly hope not.

Incidentally, be on the lookout for a Project Priority Poll in the near future - I think it's high time for the community to decide my focus for what project to work on after the Convict has been delivered :)

While the year is starting off on its usual stressful foot over at work, I'm confident I'll be able to push ahead and get some stuff delivered your way soon enough, in one form or another - as is my eternal goal. In that sense, I'd like to thank you, as always, for your continued support and for all of your kind words. It boggles my mind how the community keeps growing, slowly but surely, with each passing month. While I never know when I might hit a wall in terms of people's interest in my work, I am still tentatively hopeful that I can make something out of this in the end, and you folks are the ones making that a possible future. "The one who lives, gets to see", as the saying goes :)
