It was always in the backrooms that he caught up with her. Through the snaking corridors and strangely obtuse puzzles of police stations and museums - he was never far out of sight, but always at more than arm's length, with Claire's feet carrying her swiftly to her objectives, one after another. His hulking frame shook the foundation of buildings and crumbled pavement, ever in pursuit, wading through fire and debris to reach his ultimate price - and now, once again, he had it.

She had waited for him, this time too.
