Progress Report, 03/06 - 22

Hello everyone and welcome to another progress report!

I've made some good progress lately on the Miranda project, and while it's a little while off yet, it is shaping up to be, dare I say, one of my better projects I've made - if anything owing to Oolay-Tiger's stellar performance. Runtime as of now looks to be approximately 2 minutes of sex scenes with some surrounding scene-setting stuff, so you  can imagine it's quite a lot to sort out in terms of animation, but it's coming along. I'm also trying a new approach of lip-syncing before doing other detailed animation, meaning I have a head that is actually holding still to look at when I try to mimic the sounds in question, which I reckon helps and hopefully will make it look better than it has before.

While I've had quite a lot of motivation lately to work on the comic, I realize that I've rapidly overshot the 15k celebration piece by more than a thousand followers at this point, having gone to 16.2k last I checked owing to a sudden surge in following (a good problem to have, in some respects), so it's becoming increasingly necessary of me to get this animation piece out the door as soon as can be. In that sense, I've come to the conclusion that I need to be focusing my energies to get this one done, no matter what I might be motivated to work on in the moment, so this will be my approach in the immediate while I cross my fingers and hope I won't suffer another Miranda burnout in the process.

In that sense, while this is being worked on, other projects will be on hold as I try to pour whatever spare time I have into this, hoping to have it done as soon as possible so as to unload its weight from my shoulders. I'll have to think long and hard about what to do for 20k in the future too :)

Regardless, thank you, as always, for your continued support and for all of your kind words! The first month of summer has arrived up here, which means it's high time to get the extra fans out of the storage unit in order to make sure we survive - hot or cold, I hope you're doing well out there.

Take care of yourselves, and each other!

Comments

I particularly relate to what you write, DH, on the topic of the desirability of finishing one work that has begun a long time ago, so as to be able to lessen the 'charge mentale' derived from too much things to keep in mind at the same time and the feeling of actually getting nowhere while chasing multiple rabbits. Apart from the 'qui trop embrasse mal étreint' phenomenon, meaning the subsequent risk of a less satisfying quality achieved on any individual work while having too much on your plate, there is indeed always the burn-out 'Epée de Damoclès' to prevent, so please take care (since 'take it easy' is impossible while dedicating yourself to getting things done) above all things.
