Progress/Health Report, 30/09 - 22

Hello everyone and welcome to another in the line of progress reports!

My sinus infection is finally transitioning over into more ordinary cold symptoms, so I'm well on the path to recovery with the vertigo and nausea becoming less and less frequent. I've never had much issues with nose/ears in my life so this is something of a new experience for me, but I reckon I will be back to full vigor sometime next week, at least judging by the recovery trajectory.

On another note, I've installed a new SSD for the purposes of facilitating work easier, as well as freeing up more space on my HDDs for storage. You'd be surprised how much space this line of work requires on a rig, with individual session files sometimes reaching several gigs on their own, and subsequent auto-saves annihilating what precious space you have on your C drive. I found a decent deal on a 1TB m.2 variant and struck, as I have grown supremely tired of constantly emptying out the temp folder of my old 120gb SSD just to be able to work.

That said, it means I now have a completely fresh Windows installation, so I'll have to spend quite a lot of my spare time manually deleting and then reinstalling all the programs that are no longer in the registry. Nothing in terms of any work has been lost - all of it being stored safely on separate HDDs and in the cloud, so don't worry about that - but I will have to effectively set up all my programs all over again in order to get them in line with my workflow. No hiccups in the update schedule are expected, Monday getting its loop just as always etc, but it will be a pain in the ass and I require some sympathy darn it.

Project work will proceed apace once I am set up again, and I've got my eyes on Halloween coming up soon. We'll see what relative ambition, judging by time, I can afford to dedicate to it, but I'd like to at least do something, even if it's just a big ol' dedicated wallpaper. Chances are I'll poll you all on the matter, so keep an eye out for that.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and for all of your kind words. It's been a rough week or two with my illness, but I'm finally getting back on my feet, and (hopefully) more efficient than ever with my new setup. Hope you're holding up well out there and you're managing to dodge whatever's going around these days - this one I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.

Take care of yourselves, and each other!
/DH
