The Streets Never Run Dry

Time marches ever onward. King or peasant, rich or poor, it matters not to the great equalizer - it will arrive at one's doorstep and claim its due, one day. This all said, there are pockets of the world where its inexorable momentum is less noticeable, where time, for all intents and purposes, seems to slow down into a leisurely crawl.

For Chun-Li, this was the streets and murky alleys of the city. When she was young, this was where she'd learned to fight - where she'd learned to handle victory and defeat in equal measure, always with her head held high. Now, a mature woman in her own right, she found herself increasingly gravitating towards that phenomena, to capture that feeling, however fleeting, of time standing still. Where only the moment, pure and unhindered by the streets outside, mattered.

Fundamental to the magic of the streets was the influx of challengers. Hotheaded young and measured veterans, monstrous and angelic, all drawn like butterflies to a distant light towards these pockets of tranquility, where they could test their mettle against each other.

Appearances mattered little, though it wasn't entirely unheard of that, when presented with such a diverse array of rivals and enemies, other impulses could, on occasion, also interfere.

Chun-Li had noted how, for some reason, the latter had become more and more common over time. Whatever she'd managed to squeeze out of her partners - that wasn't seed, that is - seemed to point to her... womanly form as the cause.

A dozen or so encounters of that nature, all which had given her the same answer, eventually made her conclude that, perhaps, the steady march of time wasn't all that bad.

Her partners, as it happened, seemed to fully agree.

Was high time for another Chun-Li what with all the craze about the new game coming out, and I wanted to give her new model a spin for that reason. I think it turned out pretty well, some jank aside, so I hope you enjoy it :)
