Hello everyone and welcome to another in the line of progress reports!
It's been a rough week with some medical checkups in the family and the likes, but I've managed to get some work done regardless. The Ivy project is coming along, and while I'm not of the mind to upgrade it into a full project, I've decided to add an additional scene to it as to just make it more cohesive - having an intro that is as long as the main scene (or a main scene as short as the intro) is generally not good cinematography, in my experience, but I have a feeling balancing it out by having Ivy take on yet more Lizardman love isn't anything people will be upset over.
More work on the intro scene is required, with my first steps into trying a walking cycle being underway, but I'll also have to refurbish the main scene as to have its lighting conditions, colours etc correspond with the intro so people don't feel like this is taking place in entirely different places. More work remains, but I'm finally starting to feel happy with how this thing is coming together, and it'll be nice to have it out the door one of these days.
In the meantime, we've got an unlikely winner in the Scenario for this month: Ada Wong from Resident Evil, who I believe is about to become very much familiar with some Regenerator loving. Scene posing and the likes will commence tomorrow Saturday, so I'll have something to show for it by next Friday, with a release slated for around the 28:th this month. For the Alley Crew tier, your next poll lands already on the 24:th, so sharpen those voting... fingers, or whatever you use to get your votes in. Actually don't sharpen those, that sounds unnecessarily painful, but be ready none the less!
More model work has also been sorted, where I've looked into the new Resident Evil lineup by Rigid which, while still in its early stages, has some amazing potential for the future. A new Dimitrescu model based on Plague99's has also been sorted out, with Lady D becoming the physically largest, by every measure, lady in the gallery. Hopefully more on her coming in the future - and with Halloween coming up soon enough we better prep our horror roster either way as they tend to grow quite popular :)
On that note, I've considered how to tackle the holiday special stuff with my new schedule in effect. Regular, larger projects can exist alongside this schedule by merit of them not really having a deadline and being differently structured, but as things stand I have come to realize that I have created an update schedule that doesn't really allow for additional short-form content - Halloween as an example, if I was to make a separate Halloween Special, would mean I'd have both that and the end of the month Scenario on my hands just for that month, and that's not counting making sure I deliver the normal loops, wallpapers etc. The one idea for a path forward in my head that doesn't technically take anything away from any tier is to dedicate months (or part of them) towards the holiday themes in question, so December for instance would have all its usual poll winners simply be Christmas themed scenes, including the Scenario (which, honestly, tends to be on par with what a holiday special means anyway). I fear if I try to pull off additional holiday celebration pieces alongside my usual schedule I'll suffer some kind of conniption, brain hemorrhage and subsequent testicular torsion before being sent into the afterlife - something to be avoided.
It all merits consideration, but this is what I've settled on at the moment. Feedback is, as always, very welcome.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and for all of your kind words. The weather remains moist and tepid, with rains having continued for upwards of a month now, making me feel for the farmers and folks who have to contend with it all - including me and my colleagues whenever we have outside duties. Hope you're doing well out there, and have some semblance of roof over your heads.
Take care of yourselves, and each other!
