Progress Report, 06/10 - 23

Hello everyone and welcome to a brief progress report!

This has been a hectic week, but I've none the less managed to get some work done on long-form projects. Ivy's script is well underway after a big rewrite, and while it's not finished just yet, it's in a state where I'm seeing it come together nicely. I really need to settle on an ending to the project as of this moment, so as to write the lead-up to that, with each addition or change, however small, being able to reverberate down the project's development requirements (more VA's on board, more scenes, reworking of existing scenes etc). Speaking of VA, I believe I've found someone who will fit the bill, with Ivy's voice being very particular and unique I've been very antsy about finding the right fit, and the gods know that demo reels can be quite tiring to sit and watch through by the dozen or so. I'll be sending her the script once it's in a state representing the final product, so she knows what she's signing up to, and will only announce who it is once I have confirmation in that sense.

In polling results news, we've got quite a curve ball coming for us with the Alley Crew having crowned Karlach from Baldur's Gate 3 as the star for the October Halloween-themed Scenario. She has fittingly enough been paired up with large monsters, so expect to see previews of Mama K having fun with some big fellas popping up in the near future, with the release slated for the 30:th of this month. The monthly Less Popular Ladies vote is also underway, with a pretty even race so far, so we'll see by tomorrow Saturday who gets to star for this coming Monday. I've also refurbished the voting structure over on the Discord owing to feedback, where it finally has its own dedicated channel, so it should be less of a pain to find and get your voice heard for future votes. I wasn't expecting to do anything like the LPL vote, having mainly utilized the base discord tier for matters like small clothing or design choices as far as voting comes, but one has to adapt with the times!

I've also been asked quite a lot lately about comic work. Do you folks want to see more of that kind of content? While I did enjoy making comics, I feel like they didn't quite hit the mark of what I wanted to create, so I've considered a different structure than before, where "pages" will be illustrative samples of the on-going action otherwise described in written text. This means the images will lack stuff like sound effects, speech bubbles and so on, being entirely clean, and will allow people who utilize online translation tools to follow along with the story much easier by just copy/pasting the text instead. In other words, I'll be writing a story with 3D images cutting into the text to illustrate key points in the action, rather than having traditional comic style pages made. Something that merits consideration at least, and perhaps worthy some kind of small test of sorts in the near future.

That's enough of me ranting, with my colleagues outside demanding I come to the gym with them. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and for all of your kind words. With it being Friday and a little chilly outside I'm half tempted to have the wife go outside and tell them I can't come out and play, but as funny as that might have been, the body does not maintain itself through idleness. Hope you're doing well out there folks, all things considered.

Take care of yourselves, and each other!

I've considered what format it could take, where images with written text around it probably will be the first avenue I explore. Animations for certain parts would require a different formatting, but perhaps something to consider for the future.

I really like the comics. Would you maybe make a sort of hybrid where there are a series of images for dialgue and/or poses and then an animation for the parts where you really want animated?
