Progress Report, 07/02 - 25

Hello everyone and welcome to another progress report.

Scene 2 of Ivy is underway with Scene 1 having been finalized last week. Some bits have had to be reworked, but I spent a full day simply sorting out the lip sync so I have that done ahead of time (surprisingly, animating phonetics is difficult when someone is bouncing around, who would have thought - certainly not me in the past) and have begun the core animation structure of the scene. It's significantly shorter and overall less demanding than Scene 1 was so it'll take way less time to sort out thankfully, though given its custom animation bits I cannot say for certain. Know it's getting its just due though in terms of time allotment.

EDI's comic script also saw some headway, though I hit something of a writer's block towards the end of it, so I might have to rework some sections of the latest chapter. The hope is to resolve that by next Tuesday (after the Aftermath wallpaper is done) and see if I can dislodge the issues I have with it, thereby allowing posing to begin.

Three new ladies have also been committed to the gallery:
Ines (The First Descendant)
Katherine Proudmoore (Warcraft)
Malice (Marvel Rivals)

A bit of a rant, but I've come to the realization that finding a manner of work-life balance has been utterly crucial to my ability to work on long-term projects. The pressure (whether real or imagined) to deliver content at a frequency that satisfied folks have in the past precluded proper time dedication and progress towards these larger ventures, where I instead opted to focus on my shorter, less ambitious work that could be posted with regularity. The new schedule has resulted in something of a backing hit, I won't deny that, but all in all I think it will be worth it in the end given my significantly better mental state and seemingly consistent ability to motivate myself into working on this stuff every week, not to mention the time I can take to experiment and dedicate towards technical study. Either way, I hope that these long-term ventures will turn out the way people want and anticipate them to - know that I'll be doing my best to make sure of that, at least, all the while having a schedule of decent regularity that'll hopefully keep people interested.

A small poll is coming up this Saturday as well, pertaining to the creative direction of the wallpapers I make. Over the years they've been something of an experimental ground for me to test ideas, poses, render setups etc, but have otherwise been pretty directionless, and I've gotten some feedback as to people's desire for what they should be and not. Unsurprisingly calling something "wallpapers" and sizing them appropriately actually enables folks to use them as wallpapers for their devices, so the poll will pertain to the nature thereof. Keep your eyes peeled Saturday.

TL:DR:

Scene 2 of Ivy's project is underway.
EDI's comic is underway.
Three new gallery entries.
Poll coming up Saturday.

And that's it for this week. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and for all of your kind words. It's time for yours truly to rush out and buy more coffee (been having a lot of it lately) and the wife's pretty much at the door waiting, so I hope you're doing well out there folks, all things considered, and please do take care of yourselves as well as each other!

Appreciate it Crawdaddy, but that's sadly simply not economically feasible for me as a creator

Your work is consistent and high-quality regardless. If you feel it's more rewarding to spend more time on fewer, but larger, releases, I have no issue with that.

Crawdaddy

Work-life balance is paramount. If your new schedule is better for you mentally, that's a net positive for yourself and your work will show it. Good!
