Progress Report, Patreon poll bug and winner, 14/02 - 25

Hello everyone.

Today's been a busy week. First things first, I managed to get more work done on the Ivy project, with Scene 2 coming along nicely where I managed to sort out a pretty nice looking transition animation, if I may say so myself. More work is still required on it, but it's coming along nicely.

In less joyous news, the most recent Alley Crew ($10 tier) Scenario poll had an interface glitch here on Patreon, making some characters out to have way more votes than they actually got. Us creators thankfully have access to a statistics document, which outlines what backer voted for who, and when, so I could rather easily (if tediously) do the calculation myself of who actually came out on top in all this. With the three characters that benefited from the bug (Mother Gothel, Eliza and Scarlet) disqualified, and adding the votes from Subscribestar, the full vote tally had a three-way tie between Bunny (The First Descendant), Chun-Li (Street Fighter 6) and Psylocke (Marvel Rivals), which I simply rolled a 3-sided dice to resolve. The victor ended up being Psylocke, who will thus get the Scenario spotlight of the month, where I will start work on things tomorrow Saturday.

In the interest of complete transparency, I am providing the statistics documents embedded into this post, for those who might want to double-check themselves that I'm not talking out of my behind or the likes. The documents in question are scrubbed clean of backer identification and thus contain no usernames or emails or the likes, retaining only the timestamps for votes and who was voted for. They are both in .csv format and will require the appropriate program (such as Microsoft Excel or equivalent) to open properly.

I've been in correspondence about the interface glitch in question with Patreon staff, who have confirmed that it's an issue on their end and have forwarded my report to their engineering team, intent on fixing it. My hope is that it'll be resolved before next month's Scenario poll lands, but otherwise I'll just do this little dance again. Please, as a backer, if you notice that you for whatever reason are able to click on a character multiple times in a poll and it keeps adding votes, then for the sake of that character I implore you to not do so, or I might be forced to disqualify them just as I did this time around. Conversely, if I see this weaponized against certain characters I might just have to ignore it to the best of my ability while informing people regularly of the real numbers. Suffice to say all this means a lot more work for me regardless, so I hope that Patreon resolves it quickly and that whoever grew mad with power this time around takes it easy for the next round.

In better news, the EDI comic is underway, with the intro/outro scene structure having been reworked and properly set up. I'm hoping to dedicate more time towards it this upcoming Tuesday, my chosen day for comic work, in a bid to begin producing pages real soon.
