Regarding Commissions

Real talk. As mentioned in my Monday post, I've got some news regarding my future commission stance. This will sound blunt, and I don't mean to come across as rude, but I want this to be very clear so that no misunderstandings can occur:

-----

Effective immediately, I will not be accepting any further commissions. This will be the case for the foreseeable future. I have removed this as a potential perk on my creator page in order to reflect this new stance.

Currently the commission setup is split in 3 groups:

1) Those few remaining that have since long accepted their concepts and paid:
You will have your animations finished and delivered to you.

2) Those for whom I have drafted concepts, but who have yet to get put up on the animation list:
These will not be finished.
I understand your disappointment, but consider the concept work I made for you a freebie - seeing as no money has changed hands, I hope you can see that I am, in the end, the one losing the absolute most from this choice of mine. Either way, I am sorry.

3) Those who were still waiting for concept drafts:
I am sorry, they will not be delivered.

-----

The reasons for this choice are rather simple: the amount of time and energy required to do commission work has inevitably cut into the resources I'd like to spend doing my own concept work, or working on loops, wallpapers, or my projects, and so on. It was never meant to do so, but conversely, I realized that if I pushed the commissions to the back and only worked on them when I felt I had truly spent adequate time doing what you people here are actually supporting me for, they moved forward at a snail's pace and some had to wait literally months for me to finish their work. On the other hand, whenever I was doing commission work, I also felt I should have been working on my projects, and vise versa, which served to take some fun out of both.

While some no doubt might be backing me because they're very interested in commission slots, I like to imagine that the loops, projects and so on is the primary reason that most of you are here. In other words, against the backdrop of my health and my full-time job, I finally realize that, in order for my projects to truly go forward and in order for me to actually deliver both what I truly want to make, and what you people want me to make, I am forced to cut some corners - and I am choosing to take a scalpel to commissions for those very reasons.

Again, I am sorry, but I hope that the sneak peek above of Alexstrasza getting orc up the ass can ease some of the pain.

As always, take care of yourselves and each other, and I'll see you Friday for another progress report.

Even if it was double I'd pay that

As an economist, I think you should just raise your prices for commissions! You obviously had too much demand at your price range, haha.

I won't lie, no more commissions sucks, but your health is more important. Besides your animation loops are what brought me here so as long as you keep making those (especially with certain redheads 😉) I'm sticking around.

Hey, when developing a business practice, you sometimes realize a way of working doesn't quite function. It's normal to have to tweak things. Obviously, it's not my place to say there is no problem on behalf of the people who wanted to commission, but I'm sure they'll get over it. No money lost, after all.

Do what you need to do DH and take care of yourself.
