Hello everyone and welcome to a brief progress report.
This week has been hectic to say the least, but projects have also been moving ahead. I hope to have the voice scripts delineated, extracted from their scripts and boiled down, by this weekend and sent out to VA's so that I can look over the prospects of lip sync as soon as possible in production, which tends to give more consistent quality to scenes over adding it in after all other animation is done. Both Lady of the Woods 2 and the 3K twitter celebration piece are shaping up nicely - I find myself enjoying the structure I've found for both, but particularly the new script for LoTW2 will help motivate my work on it, and I'm looking forward to sharing more of them with you here in the future.
Breaking the Lineage, the Mortal Kombat piece, meanwhile, is taking its time. The lack of an IK rig for Shinnok makes the process extremely slow, but I hope to have it finished alongside one of the other projects fairly soon. LotW2 might, if all things go well, be close to completion this month, provided my "real life" work offers me the spare time I need for it. Fingers crossed as, frankly, I vastly prefer this over what I do otherwise :)
Commissions are still underway, with a rather hefty private one finished recently. I am extremely slow, but if I've promised you a slot, you are getting a slot. Thank you for being patient with me, in all these respects.
My Blender learning continues as well. I'm following what's colloquially known as the "doughnut tutorial", which is going to head into animation territory. I'll see just how time consuming Blender animation is, but if I can get somewhat proficient in it, there's no telling if I can maybe start delivering short loops or the likes in that engine as well. While I don't see myself transitioning entirely next week, there's the distant future to think of - who wouldn't want to see our ladies handled in that lovely looking engine, after all?
As always, thank you so much for your continued support, and for all of your kind words! I hope to have more to show this upcoming week as this one really did a number on me, and all of my colleagues. Turns out the global crisis outside can reach even the most insular of work places after all. Hunker down though, and it'll be over sooner or later :)
Take care of yourselves, and each other!
