Fridays are for collapsing in your bed after yet another hellweek, then dragging yourself to the computer because our work here is not done just yet and I'll be damned if I'll let it be. A few points of interest this week:
For starters, our poll finished! This was simply to gauge the general distribution of fandoms among backers, so those who fret the victors or those who ended up in the lower tiers need not worry - this is essentially my attempt to confirm the result of a suspected feedback loop where a specific following is courted based on the material I've been putting out over the years, and it's thus little surprise that we have a huge Mass Effect following on here. It is, by far, my most heavily featured material at the end of the day.
What surprised me the most was the amount of fans of the Legend of Queen Opala universe, but considering the material that Swegabe tends to feature over in his realm, it's perhaps hardly surprising to see it intersect with out fans here! The surprise mostly consisted of the juxtaposition of its popularity here in the poll and what tends to be rather lackluster response to LoQO posts, animations etc comparative to other universes, but I honestly chalk that up to the limits of the 3D models and my animation skills being unable to really do the universe justice. Still, worth to keep in mind!
Seeing Resident Evil and Warcraft being up high was hardly surprising either, and we all have a small Final Fantasy fan inside of us, but Bioshock still going this strong after all this time really is a testament to Elizabeth's design :)
Regardless, this was a fun checkup on the general state of things, and I can't see Mass Effect's popularity diminish with the upcoming Remastered release on the horizon either. Fingers crossed that we'll get a good Benezia model to rip this time around!
And hey, by all means - if you know of any game fandoms that happen to have curvaceous ladies in it that you haven't seen featured here, feel free to mention it in the comments. You never know if it piques my interest :)
In project news, I've been hard pressed to get work done this week, but I've still managed to eke out something of a decent initial scene structure to Project: Underground Fundraising. The script has halted briefly as I am considering where to actually take this project proper - while it would be fun to see a small army of Shinra soldiers and Don Corneo churn butter inside Tifa, I think the character dynamics call for something more intricate that still won't have the Don speak all too much. Balance, in all things.
Project: Continued Negotitations meanwhile saw a small writing burst in its script, and I believe that it, aside from polish, is largely finished in its structure. With this comes the grand issue of figuring out exactly how to get two actresses who aren't in the same room, and who won't be recording at the same time, to have a decently paced conversation. A headache for Future DH to deal with, as I've begun to sneakily animate initial parts of Scene 1, struggling in particular with Miranda's huge ass in order to get the bounce and jiggle just right. All in due time, as we can no doubt agree.
On top of this, I've finally taken the step to download the appropriate tools for WoW model ripping. Though I'm in the middling, early stages of learning, I've wanted an imp model for ages, and intend to have one sorted as soon as possible. Still no word from Bangfri on my orc model, but I imagine he's very busy still, though I have to admit I am itching to finally make the comic I've had in mind for some time now :)
Your continued commission interest is, incidentally, noted! I am still struggling to deliver the final commission on my to-do list before I can get to the rest who have been promised slots during the last opening, as it is. I will definitely reconsider my approach to commissioning in the future, following this batch, opting to follow the path of other artists and their way of doing things - something I probably should have done from day 1.
As always, thank you so much for your continued support, and for all of your kind words! Though the start of the year is always rough at work, and doubly so now with the still on-going corona crisis, I hope to continue to be able to deliver on my promised update schedule, and that you'll be happy with the content in question.
Take care of yourselves, each other, and make sure to don't slip out there. It's like an ice skating arena over here :)
