Progress Report, 17/10 - 25

Hello everyone and welcome to a very brief progress report!

EDI's comic has seen more pages sorted, where I've made some steady progress. Chapter 3 will be a long one, but I think it'll be significantly better paced than previous ones, so looking forward to getting it into your hands.

The core animation for the Outro of Ivy's project has also been resolved, which is the final scene of the project. I'll almost certainly be able to resolve the detail animation pass of it next Thursday, and after that I'll just look to perhaps touch up a few things in the project (like the walking cycle in the intro, the by far oldest part of the whole project and one of the few things that was largely kept intact from its early animation work), and then it will actually be done in so far as animating it goes. Next Thursday in that sense when I sit down with it again I'll make a note to also contact some old VA talent that got involved when I got the script sorted, since it'll soon be time to edit it all together.

Estimated total total runtime for the Ivy project is 7.5 minutes, the vast majority of it action, so it's going to be pretty packed all in all.

Estimated release is sometime in November, depending on VA and funding availability.

It's been a long time coming, with a whole lot of hiccups and bumps in the road leading to rewrites, reworks and nudging me very close to burnout at times, so it'll be good to finally get it out the door. I understand that 2025's schedule isn't quite as agreeable to some folks as my previous schedule(s) might have been, and I can definitely sympathize, but I recognize now that it's what effectively saved me from quitting animating entirely. While I occasionally have worse days, my positivity and motivation to work on my content hasn't been this high in many years, so I hope you stick around to see what I've got in store for the future - Ivy is going to be a bit of an example of what you can expect out of "Projects" going forward, where I believe I've found a good workflow that makes me able to put consistent progress into these things.

On the Scenario front, we have a winner of the month in Rangiku Matsumoto (Bleach), whose Scenario I will begin work on this Saturday, as according to schedule. Since Patreon's UI was lagging behind a bit again this month there's some discrepancies in the vote compared to the statistics document, the latter which Patreon has assured me will always give correct numbers while they are aware of and looking into their UI issues. I've previously also verified two random samples by asking two backers to provide their votes for me, and at least last time their votes lined up perfectly with the statistics document, so it seems to be one reliable source for poll results.

Either way, in the attachments you'll find two .csv documents containing the Substar and Patreon statistics, respectively, with any and all backer identification scrubbed clean but leaving the votes, dates etc intact. I generally get the feeling that folks trust me on this issue, but I want to be transparent regardless, so for anyone who wants to check them out to make sure I got my numbers right, they are very welcome to.

TL:DR:
More EDI comic progress.
Ivy Project estimated release in November. 7.5 minutes runtime.
Rangiku Matsumoto (Bleach) winner of October's Scenario Poll.

But enough of my rants - thank you, everyone, so much for your continued support and for all of your kind words. I'll be spending today Friday recovering (and cleaning the darn apartment) so I'll be proper fit for fight for the weekend. Hope you're all doing well out there, all things considered. Please take care of yourselves, as well as each other!
