Hello folks!
Demon Funds, also known as "The Ivy Project" is finally done. Subsequent page uploads with its required verification and approval are underway, but the download link should, as of writing, be available to all.
The runtime is roughly 7.5 minutes, most of it action, where I recognize that rough edges absolutely do remain (particularly on the older stuff that I opted to retain in the 2025 rework of it), but I also recognize that it contains some of my best work yet, so I dearly hope you enjoy it in that respect.
It's been a long journey, with it starting off as essentially a loop animation meant to celebrate an ancient Twitter follower milestone, voted into being by the Patreon community, only to warp into the equivalent of a Scenario before Scenarios were even a thing, and then eventually being reworked into a full-on project with a script finalized and sent to Alexia for approval at the very end of 2023, who gave me hands down the best Ivy performance I have ever heard.
I won't beat around the bush and will simply admit that the whole of 2024 was a rough year for me. I was facing burnout owing to my schedule coupled with a spiral of lacking inspiration where I was feeling my work was turning formulaic, and that along with some family tragedies (including my wife ending up in the hospital), poor sleep and mental health, I will be frank and say that most of the work I managed to get done that year on this project was very poor, often rushed without consideration for my workflow, and that a lot of it had to be discarded or reworked. Biting the bullet and reworking the schedule into the 2025 version allowed me some respite, let me recover and, crucially, let me consistently work on the project in question every Thursday by a rigid schedule, instead of the old whimsy. It turns out that I'm a man that needs structure, so I've been making steady progress this year until, finally, it's culminated into this.
I can only thank you, my backers, for you support through this. Without you none of this would have been possible, and it would never have seen the light of day (cancellation and eating the fallout was something I considered many times in 2024 in particular), but your kindness and support managed to pull me through and now, when I sit on the other side, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I dearly hope you enjoy it for what it is, even if I recognize that the expectations of 2 years worth of work might be hard to measure up to, for which I blame no one if they were to feel tepid about it. Still, it really does contain some of my best work yet, so I dearly hope you enjoy it. The links will be updated as the uploads are approved, for easier viewing, as the downloaded file is more than 1gb in size.
So thank you again, everyone, so very much for your support and kind words. I'm feeling almost a bit deflated after getting this whole thing done, so while the schedule will keep rolling as always (also, welcome to December!) I'll have to consider what I put my Thursdays to in the near future. Time to whip up a Twitter trailer for the folks there - please, take care of yourselves out there folks, as well as each other!
