Quest Idea:

This region has changed suddenly and drastically. A volcano erupted in the region two years ago, and in addition to the sudden destruction, the environment has also undergone long-term changes. The water in the region has become hot, sometimes alkaline, sometimes acidic, and thus undrinkable. Our heroes are hired by the heir of the then count to delve into the depths of the area to locate the region's former residence castle and retrieve an important magical item. It is a symbol of power, and only in this way will the heir gain the legitimacy to unite what has been shattered ever since.

The Dangers of the Environment

- Strange creatures emerge from the lakes the likes of which no human has ever seen. Their skin and flesh are made of stone, and their blood is hot, colorful water or acid. They appear to feed on rocks, but they are also extremely territorial. Closer examination reveals that they are not based on carbon, but rather silicon.

- Some of the creatures are capable of spraying a thick mist through their glands. Not only does it obscure vision but it can also have hallocinogenic effects.

- Other creatures sleep in camouflaged form and are almost indistinguishable from ordinary rocks.

- The lakes themselves pose further dangers. Not only do enemies tend to push or pull attackers into the water, but spontaneous geysers of acidic water are also possible, and they have eroded so much of the surface that a hot bath can lurk beneath a seemingly safe layer of rock.

- Arriving at the castle, our heroes are finally confronted by other creatures. These, however, are capable of demonstrating intelligence. They tell of originating from an underground realm and escaping from there when the volcano erupted. Now they wish they could live here. At the same time, it turns out that they were using the artifact to continually grow the mineral lakes so they can live in a larger area. When a battle ensues, one of them will be able to bend the lakes and make life hell for our heroes with colorful and deadly attacks.
