Something Cool (to me)
Added 2023-06-01 20:54:31 +0000 UTCOkay, so every blue moon or so, I take fifteen minutes off from being productive. You may wonder what a writer like me get up to during all of that luxurious free time. Well, prepare for enlightenment...(it may help your cultivation).

I spend my time reading things like this. If you're really interested, you can read the Wikipedia entry on the book. Here's the elevator pitch. Ferriss was an architect in the early 20th century. This book was essentially his thoughts on existing architectural trends of the time, likely near-term trends, and predictions of future trends. Because of the book's relative position in time, it's a kind of historical/architectural curiosity. After all, we're living well past the time that Ferriss would have been thinking of as "the future."
While I am actually interested in the architectural angle, the main draw for me is the artwork. Unless you're a huge geek like me with a lot of niche interests, you probably don't know that artists for Batman: The Animated Series took a lot of their inspiration for the building designs in the show from...you guessed it, The Metropolis of Tomorrow. If you haven't seen Batman: The Animated Series, firstly, I'm sorry about that. You missed a gem. Secondly, I'm not aware of a place where you can stream it for free...at least not legally.
The good news is that it is widely available through services like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube, AppleTV, and GooglePlay. So, if you're really interested, you can probably find it.
