Like you said, given how few S Ranks there are in the guild and how powerful they're depicted to be, it does make sense that Fairy Tail's standards are really high

2023-09-15 23:30:59 +0000 UTCThink it's fairly established (I could be wrong) that what qualifies as S rank in one Guild does not necessarily qualify as S class in another guild. Taking into account Gildarts, Phantom Lords standards for S class was simply a lot lower than Fairy Tails. It's definetly a bit confusing in the show though, especially the first time you watch it.

2023-09-15 04:55:21 +0000 UTCI feel you, after everything we been through in each arc it can be hard to believe the gang isn't S Class already lmao I mean Juvia and Gajeel were S Class Wizards in Phantom Lord but Gray and Natsu beat them (respectively), then we destroyed one of the big 3 dark guilds. then we got sent to a different world and defeated a mech dragon 💀 like one would think we're around that level at this point lmao
