The Spoils of War is a phenomenal episode that leaves us on the edge of a cliff hanging on for dear life. I have to face the tune of my alliances in this one and woof it's going to be a spicy road.

This person has already unsubscribed to patreon so i am responding to this for anyone else who sees this! and does include spoilers for season 8. I actually love Danareys. I speak often about my fear being that she will turn her position of power into something forceful and overpowering. To call how I feel about Dany internal misogyny feels like an absolutely absurd take when I've had her back for seasons. And the show is what told us Mysa is master not me. I am simply recalling a part of the show that fed my deepest fears for Dany. And now after seeing season 8 all the way through i think this entire comment is rude. Reactors are watching things for the first time and having a personal reaction. Often times people watch reactions because they want to see someone have the same reaction and then they are most let down when the reactor simply has a different interpretation because everyone lives a different life. So the lens my brain sees things through will always be different than every single person and vice versa. This show is deeply layered and there is not a single person in this show in a position of power that hasn't had to make a decision that upset people. Power is complicated and so is Danarey's entire story. I actually think this show is one of the best shows at showing women in power and giving them room to shine through their good and their bad moments. Now I do think Danarey's loved her close council to a point that will and does absolutely ruin her. Her love for them pushes her to make choices that are heartbreaking in the future. But I do not think losing people close to her is the only reason she ends up making these choices. And a spoiler, as Tyrion says it best in the final episode. We cheer for Dany as she murders people because they are evil. She has walked into positions of power because she has been strong and brave enough to counter people doing evil things. But this entire time we have emboldened her to make decisions that do often harm and kill many because it was in the 'greater good'. So we looked past the dark sides of this. And even when we see her struggle with people upset we have her back. But it's not wrong of us to consider the position of the people who suffered because of what she took away. Obviously we strongly disagree with slavery and so it's easy to side with Dany but choices have ripple effects. Idk, I honestly just feel like this person misunderstood me. and that's ok. but the comment itself is not. Talking to people on the internet like this is not ok. It's ok to have critical takes and open a conversation on both sides. But to go for name calling and accusations is not.

Your interpretation on Dany's followers and why they are following her is crazy. The show showed you one thing for 7 seasons and yet you seem to refuse to accept it and turned it into something malicious and manipulative instead. Missandei and Jorah are the people closest to her, not pawns in a game. They and her dragons are the most important people in her life and something happening to them would crush her in ways you can't even comprehend. The comments on her in general for the past two episodes, all the while putting Jon on a pedastal, are somewhat surprising. I feel like you have trouble empathizing with many of the female characters on this show. Good old internalized misogyny I guess. Edit: The "Mysa is master" comment while Missandei tells Jon how much she appreciates Dany made me glad I didn't subscribe for any longer than the free test week.
