Yeah I hate that so much of GOT was centered around that saying and that it still carries over into things like HOTD. Only a handful of Targaryen Kings went “mad” and it was all due to outside traumatizing factors.

2024-10-24 20:55:45 +0000 UTCIt’s one thing to swear an oath to the crown it’s another to call them to war it’s just like what happened in GOT walder wanted Robb to wed one of his daughters when he wanted to use the crossing walder knew that if he sold his kid off then he would have status to the king in the north if Robb got her pregnant or if Robb lost he could say he was never involved also the saying every time a Targaryen is born the gods flip a coin is one of the worst lines in GOT most of the Targaryen kings weren’t mad theirs a different between crazy and just evil like most people don’t Even know how the mad king became mad their was an event where the mad king was kidnapped it’s called the defiance of duskendale thats the event that started to change him.
