News for November

Hey Patrons!

I hope you're doing well! We're done with October and are hurdling into the most hectic parts of the year, somehow, already. Take a deep breath if you haven't recently! This month, I'm looking forward to the moments when I'm at my desk listening to fun podcasts and hacking away at some comic panels. It's been an oddly reflective last few weeks for me, and I'm trying more and more to savor the process (and privilege) of making this comic. Time goes by very fast. I mean, these next few episodes are the first of Eric Bittle's junior spring semester. Time seriously flies.

 
Kickstarter. For the rest of 2016 and the beginning of 2017, the Kickstarter remains a priority. On the Overtime/behind-the-scenes blog, you'll notice that most of the posts have and will continue to focus on the fulfillment of this project—from the creation of the Year Two Book to the printing process to the development of all the stretch goal trinkets, etc. (It's okay, don't worry, I have help.) I'll be sharing the bigger picture with backers via Kicktarter in less tedious detail, and recording the more day-to-day goings on the Overtime blog.

I'll still be posting comic progress updates and random/rambling thoughts about Check, Please, but many of the posts there will be about the Kickstarter. Also, a reminder that most of the posts on the OT blog eventually get shared on the main Check, Please blog. The only posts that don't get shared are the progress updates, my rambling text posts, and a few drawings here and there.

Comic Updates. I'm hoping to get three comics up by mid-December, but might have to push that to the week just before the holidays. I know I should be able to get three comics ready to post during the week of the 12th, but I'm uncertain what inevitable surprises will pop up surrounding the Kickstarter. So these are my estimates if I'm being realistic. I'll probably throw a quick blog post up on the main blog at omgcheckplease.tumblr.com when I'm more certain.   

Livestreams. I'm still planning on streaming on Sunday evenings! One of these streams should definitely be a sketch jam. While that is a designated time for streaming, I might pop up here and there with afternoon and morning streams. Check the copy/pasted part of this newsletter below—patrons discovered a way to watch the stream on mobile.

Let's see, other than that...Yeah! I'll be busy doodling away at comics and noodling away kickstarter tasks. (And sleeping! I love sleeping!) And if you haven't downloaded Huddle 2, go and do it now! After today it will no longer be free to patrons. Thank you!

Patreon doesn't have sticky posts , so here's info/FAQs for patrons old and new:

★ Behind-The-Scenes Blog. All patrons who pledged to this tier-level will get the new password sent to them a few days after pledges are processed at the beginning of each month. If you're subscribing in the middle of the month, you should search for this month's password under creator posts.

★ Livestreams. Picarto includes an interactive chat so you can talk to other patrons. (Please keep the discussion PG-13.) If you miss out on a stream, you can access it on my Picarto page until the next livestream. Some of the streams get downloaded, tagged, and cross-posted to the behind-the-scenes and here.

☆ Watching Picarto Streams on Mobile. A few people on the livestream figured out a way to watch streams on mobile. The Puffin web browser supports Java, so after downloading the mobile app: (1) Open stream in browser(2) Click the menu button at the bottom of your screen(3) Choose "open desktop site"--enjoy!
