News for January 2017

Happy New Year! I'm back from the holidays and ready to jump into it. May this year bring forth tons of printed books, fun conventions, and of course, hockey comics.

Kickstarter. During the month of January, most of the behind-the-scenes content will focus on the Year Two Kickstarter. (So, not as many comic progress updates.) I'll share commission progress as well as my process for fulfilling other parts of the Kickstarter. I'll also continue analyzing the most recent comics. (And of course,  there'll always be “#rambling” entries.)

Livestreams. Weekly livestreams every Sunday! With a few impromptu streams in between. (I hope you got to drop by the 7hr stream last month.) Posting recordings of every video is a bit cumbersome, so please check out the most recent stream on Picarto before it gets overwritten. I'll try to save stream recordings whenever I can!

Other Projects? After the completion of Year Three this summer, I might take a few months to focus on a writing project unrelated to Check, Please! (To be honest, I might also take some time to finalize the script and thumbnails for Year Four.) I'm not yet sure if/how I will share development about this project, or how the shift will change this Patreon.  Either way, I'm letting you know far in advance so that there are no surprises!

Patreon doesn't have sticky posts , so here's info/FAQs for patrons old and new:

★ Behind-The-Scenes Blog. All patrons who pledged to this tier-level will get the new password sent to them a few days after pledges are processed at the beginning of each month. If you're subscribing in the middle of the month, you should search for this month's password under creator posts.

★ Livestreams. Picarto includes an interactive chat so you can talk to other patrons. (Please keep the discussion PG-13.) All patrons with access to Livestreams can always watch the most recent stream on Picarto (scroll down to my channel profile and click "video"). These videos are tagged and posted on the behind-the-scenes blog a few days after the stream, and cross-posted here.

☆ Watching Picarto Streams on Mobile.  A few people on the livestream figured out a way to watch streams on mobile. The Puffin web browser supports Java, so after downloading the mobile app:
(1) Open stream in browser
(2) Click the menu button at the bottom of your screen
(3) Choose "open desktop site"--enjoy!
