Neon Genesis Evangelion: Episode 3 FULL LENGTH Reaction!

Link to Reaction in YouTube Description!
*HEADPHONE WARNING*

Shinji continues on his path of being QUITE the unique protagonist as our lone Evangelion pilot transfers to a new high school, but it doesn't quite go as one might expect. We meet a slew of new characters, specifically Aida and Toji -- both of which are interesting additions to our cast!

This episode is CHOCK full of exposition, mystery; emotional character moments and surprising choices made by them -- for an episode that seems more "laid back" than the first two...it also seems anything BUT. This series just keeps getting better and better!

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

Clyde Frog! HA! Honestly, now that I've seen that image, I can't unsee it, haha!! And yesss the "Alert music" SO has a James Bond sound to it!!

Whenever there's an Angel incoming, the Alert music that plays is alot like the Cold War era 007 theme, from flicks like From Russia with Love And this angel for some reason, when it's in Shrimp Mode, it's big eyes and head remind me of Cartman's Clyde Frog from South Park

Ahhh, good that the translations are better! And Interesting -- That "I musn't run away" being said while he protects someone for and against orders....hmmmm..... And YES, that is the question; why indeed did he choose to fight in that moment? Hmmm.....that is going to be the question moving forward, eh? Thanks for the comments!!

Hahahahaha, oh thanks! I was thinking, ".....how do I say this?!" XD

"Vaguely sexual" I lol'd way too hard at this comment

Something I just realized: the first time he repeats this phrase to himself, he's following orders, the second time he's disobeying orders, but both times he's protecting someone. First Rei, now Toji and Kensuke... although you could make the argument that retreating like Misato told him to would've been safer for his classmates, which presents the conundrum: why did apathetic Shinji, of all people, choose to fight even when ordered not to? He doesn't like fighting, and he 'does what he's told', according to Ritsuko. So why did he do what he did? I've only watched a minute or two of your discussion so far, so maybe this is something you brought up as well. I'll have to come back to it later, it is quite a lengthy one. xD

We have Shinji repeating "I mustn't run away" over and over again this episode, just like in episode 1. I'm glad I pointed out the subtitle difference the other week. (Netflix had it as "Don't run away.")
